Top 3 Tips to Getting Intuitive Eating Right



When I finally found Intuitive Eating I felt like jumping for joy, running around in pure excitement and sharing it with the world. I am so happy you are here right now to share my TOP 3 TIPS to GETTING it RIGHT with Intuitive Eating (IE).

Tip # 1 - Get the Right Resources

Not all information on the wide world of the internet is reliable (you already knew that right!?). When reading about intuitive eating it's important to remember that it is NOT a weight loss diet. If a resource tells you to use IE to lose weight move on to the next one you can find. Intuitive eating does the OPPOSITE of this, it encourages you to put weight loss as a goal on the back burner so you can focus on more important things.

Get the right resources! Start with the IE book "Intuitive Eating - A Revolutionary Program that Works (affiliate amazon link)" and the workbook which can be purchased online or at your local bookstore.

Tip # 2 - Be Patient

This is a journey not a sprint. Using the intuitive eating principles takes practice. These principles take time to work into your life and to re-train the diet culture way of thinking. Give yourself permission to take the time you need to sink into the resources and learn. Allow the principles to saturate your life in a slow and sustainable way.

Tip # 3 - Recruit a Friend/ Find Support

Share your IE journey with a friend so you can gab about progress, questions that might come up, take JOY in successes and share learning and observations. If you find your friends are not sharing your perspective then find a Facebook group or other online group for support!
